STUMP GRINDING

A stump is often left sticking above ground level when a tree is removed.

Stump removal involves complete removal of the stump. This is achieved by using a special machine called a grinder, which has metal teeth attached to a wheel that rotates at high speeds. It can be used to rip apart the stump to below ground level in a process known as stump grinding.

Stump grinding then removes the remaining stump to a specified depth, typically between 150mm and 300mm. Once the stump is ground out, the hole is backfilled with soil or grinding waste to leave the area level with minimal trace of the work.
